September 03, 2013

On Thursday, August 29th, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar was at the Minnesota Board on Aging booth at the State Fair, discussing efforts to crack down on fraud targeted at seniors. Sen. Klobuchar recently introduced the bipartisan Senior Fraud Protection Act, which would help fight scams, like fraudulent telemarketing, designed to strip seniors of their assets. Don Samuelson, Chair of the Minnesota Board on Aging, introduced the Senator, stating, “All older people deserve the right to live with dignity, in their communities, as independently as possible. They deserve to be free from abuse, neglect, and exploitation of any kind. We welcome and support Senator Klobuchar’s efforts to crack down on fraud that is targeted at seniors.”
